Braps.
There is something exciting about hearing a well-tuned nitro engine brapping as the throttle is opened and watching the car respond to combustion generated power. Seeing and smelling the exhaust is a sweet bonus that completes the sensory experience that is a nitro RC. Compare that to the pathetic whine of an electric motor and there isn’t much else to say.
Just watch this Traxxas T-Maxx rip up a baseball diamond!
You like to tinker with engines
Nitro RCs give you opportunities to tinker. Every time I run one of my nitro RCs, I have to tweak the settings on the carburetor. I thoroughly enjoy this process of watching the engine perform better and better as I dial in the settings. After I have it tuned, I listen to the engine and the feedback it provides, which lets me know when it is time to perform maintenance. When it comes time to rebuild the engine, I enjoy taking it apart and restoring it by cleaning it and replacing worn parts.
That’s it.
It’s really that simple. You want a nitro RC because it has a combustion engine. Engines are fun to maintain and a thrill to operate.
