Nitro RCs are more fun than electric

Electric RCs are fine, but if you want the full RC experience, you have to get a nitro. Here’s why I will always choose nitro RCs over electric.

Braps.

Enough said. Article over. Okay, I’ll explain…

There is something exciting about hearing a well-tuned nitro engine brapping as the throttle is opened and then flat out screaming at wide open throttle. Seeing and smelling the exhaust is a sweet bonus that completes the sensory experience that is a Nitro RC. Compare that to the whine of an electric motor spooling up and there isn’t much else to say.

For myself and many other nitro RC enthusiasts, it’s all about the braps.

It’s fun to maintain an engine

Have you ever had a problem with your lawn mower? Maybe it’s stalling when you get into thick grass. So you start reading forum posts and watching YouTube videos to diagnose the issue. You order the necessary parts, install them, and the lawn mower is running like new again. That’s a damn good feeling. Of course now you have to cut the grass!

Nitro engines are the same way, except you get to drive a badass nitro burning brap machine when you’re done with maintenance and repairs.

The benefits of electric are overrated

Electric RCs have more torque and top speed.

Electric RCs are quiet and smoke-free.

Electric RCs have more models and better parts support.

Electric RCs are easier to maintain.

I don’t care about any of these so-called benefits. They just aren’t that important to me. Braps are way more important. As long as I can get fuel and find parts online, I’ll continue to maintain and run my Nitro RCs.
